Chicken Keema – Indian Spiced Minced Meat

July 11, 2016 by naivecookcooks 14 Comments

Fast & flavor packed, this Chicken Keema is Indian food at it’s best! No funny ingredients and just simple stove top cooking! If you love Indian food, then this is a MUST TRY!

Chciken Keema - Indian spiced meat, just 30 mins start to finish, a perfect healthy comfort food which is way better than take out!

Sharing today my all time favorite Keema recipe which I have enjoyed since I was a kid. Though I have always eaten the version with lamb involved but I wanted a healthier lean protein so chicken was the way to go! Though if lamb or beef or turkey is your meat of choice, go with it! And vegetarian friends tofu or paneer will also make a great substitute!

I have always loved eating Keema but never really knew how to make at home. It always seemed such a daunting task until I gave it a try few months back! This is one of those Indian recipes which need to no special spices, no special cooking techniques – just simple cooking at it’s best! If you are new to Indian cooking , then I would strongly suggest you to give this Chicken Keema Recipe a try.

It takes just 45 minutes start to finish and you will have a healthy flavor packed dinner on the table in no time! And nobody will believe that’s it’s not a take out – it’s that good!

Chicken Keema - Indian spiced meat, just 30 mins start to finish, a perfect healthy comfort food which is way better than take out!

It starts with simple minced meat of your choice. Everything is cooked on stove top and after 15 minutes of hands on time, all you need to do is stir it few times in between. The time in between I use it to get my rice or chapati going and that’s it! Lately I have been making it for our dinner as with our packed schedule, this feels like eating a proper meal which is ready in no time but is so comforting.

I don’t really like to make this in advance as I like to serve meat dishes fresh but this if packed tightly in airtight container in freezer will last for few days. Just make sure to warm it up thoroughly before serving.

Tomorrow we are off to see our uncle’s just born sweet little baby girl and I can’t wait to hold her in my arms! <3

    Hi Amishi,

I found your food blog and this recipe online yesterday and gave it a go! EVERYONE IN OUR HOUSE LOVED IT! Including a little 16 month old who wanted more and more, we reduced the amount of green chilies, but the flavor was spot on! It was such a great hit that we’re making it again tonight (TWO NIGHTS IN A ROW!) except tonight we’re going to add some steamed cauliflower rice to incorporate some veggies into this yummy dish.

I love that this dish only requires 2 tsp of oil!!!!! 🙂

Thank you for this wonderful recipe, which will become a staple in our home from now on!

    Hi Amishi,
Thank you so much for posting this simple recipe. This is the 2nd time I’ve attempted it, with successful results both times! I love that it is quite flavorful with just a few ingredients & that not too much prep time is required.
My family (& specially my toddler) loved it. I added a bit of xarrots & french beans which made it even more delicious & healthy.
