Double Chocolate Microwave Cake

October 19, 2015 by naivecookcooks 17 Comments

All you need to satisfy a Chocolate Cake craving is 5 mins and few basic ingredients!

Double Chocolate Microwave Cake

I think I am following a trend lately. I realised that I by some unknown means end up posting a dessert recipe on a Monday. First I thought how bad is that since everyone is looking for meatless recipes and who on a Monday would like to make a cake or some sort of dessert on first day of a week?! But how wrong was I. I realised that well since Monday is sort of hard on almost all of us because well let’s be honest nobody wants the weekend to end and so eating and making a dessert on Monday night totally makes sense!!??

Ingredients for Double Chocolate Microwave Cake

But in lieu of keeping Monday night after dinner dessert cravings really simple to make, I got you covered. A decadent, utterly chocolatey or to be precise DOUBLE CHOCOLATE cake that takes 5 MINS from start to finish from assembling and throwing all the ingredients in a microwave safe bowl/cup and letting it cook in microwave and then adding some extra chocolate chips & sprinkles on top because well extra chocolate never hurts, it is one dessert that is also EGG LESS, NEEDS NO BUTTER and naive cook friendly! ?

We have been making this for almost 4 months now and with time I have fine tuned it as per our tastes yet it still stays one of our favorite weekend treats which we like to enjoy while watching our favorite shows.  It’s comes out super chocolatey and as you can see in last picture super fluffy too! So no dense, uncooked cake here. We are talking about really decadent chocolate cake that takes just few simple ingredients and only few minutes!

Now onto something crazy I discovered yesterday? There are people in this world who got so much free time on their hands that they don’t mind spending entire day just doing nothing!! I mean it’s a personal choice but I can’t see myself doing that at all! #callmecrazy

Moist Double Chocolate Microwave Cake

So If you love comedy and specifically stand up comedies, you might know Aziz Ansari and Amy Schumer. We have been waiting to watch this comedy show of theirs for the last 3 months and yesterday was the day. The show was supposed to start at 5pm and us being us were there even before 5pm and then after standing with the crowd for good one hour, we were told we won’t be seeing anything happening until before 7pm and we were like what and then to our shock we realised that the two comedians we came to see won’t be making their appearances until 9pm?!! But at last it was all done by 11pm!! and it ended up being loads of fun and laughter. But we both felt so bad because so much time got wasted just doing nothing! Lesson learnt : Always call ahead of time to make sure!!

And so I felt this 5 MIN DOUBLE CHOCOLATE MICROWAVE CAKE was much needed!!??

The only thing that you might need to perfect is the TIME. Every microwave is different and so each of you will find your own time that works perfectly.

For us exact 1 min 17 sec is what it takes to get our cake done in our microwave but as I said before it will vary for each one of you. So I would suggest to start with this time as a reference and if you find it is still uncooked, add 10 seconds and check each time until cooked completely and if overcooked, reduce time the next time. Hope it makes sense!

Well I have never tried baking this recipe in oven. This is a recipe for microwave since it’s an easy recipe and for days when you don’t want to turn on your oven. I am not sure about oven settings for this.

We love mug cakes, as it gives us that chocolate fix that we crave, without having loads of leftover chocolate cake laying around.

I love your yellow mug! It’s so cheerful. The chocolate cake inside makes it even better. I haven’t made one of these in a long time and I think I should really soon. I’d just sneak a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. ; )
