Serves: 4 pancakes
Savory Chickpea Pancakes:
  • 1 cup chickpea flour (besan)
  • 1 tomato, finely chopped
  • ⅓ cup red onion, finely chopped
  • Handful finely chopped fresh cilantro
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • ¼ tsp black pepper powder
  • ½ tsp ginger paste
  • ¾ cup water
  • Few tsps oil for cooking
Savory Chickpea Pancakes:
  1. In a bowl mix first 10 ingredients.
  2. Heat a pancake griddle or a flat non stick pan. Add few drops of oil and pour ½ cup batter in the center. Using back of a spoon spread it as much as you can. Let it cook on medium low heat. When you see bubbles appearing on top, add few drops of oil on top of pancake and flip. Cook and apply little bit oil on the now top surface. Flip after few minutes and cook. Once it's nicely cooked and golden on both sides, serve with ketchup or your favorite hot sauce.
