Cajun Spicy Roasted Cauliflower Steak served as a side or as a meal! (GF + DF + VEGAN + VEGETARIAN)
When it comes to food choices, we both have our own differences. I love anything full of veggies, sight of veggie packed meal makes me all happy while on the other hand, for him a meal with tons of veggie is not a meal but a salad and in his world, salad is not counted as a meal! Men, I tell you! So after our NY trip back home, I found myself with an empty refrigerator and almost clueless what to eat for lunch.
Last time, I made cauliflower steaks spiced with Indian tandoori seasoning and yogurt, I ended up consuming whole cauliflower by myself as after a bite Jerry declared them too healthy for his taste! So when I saw a full head of cauliflower sitting in refrigerator, I knew what I was having for lunch. I had no yogurt and short on time, I had no intention of letting it sit to marinate. So I decided to spice these up with my all time favorite cajun seasoning. I tell you, these are super simple yet delicious and healthy meal and you don’t even need to baby these. Just ppo them in a 420F oven and bake for around 45-50 minutes, flipping them halfway and you have a healthy, super tasty and delicious vegetarian meal ready!
If you want, you can serve them over a bed of rice, brown rice, cooked millet, lemony quinoa or just plain. Options are endless! So enjoy and have a light flavor packed meal all by yourself or with your loved ones!
I can’t stop.
- Head of cauliflower
- Salt to taste
- 3-4 Tbsp cajun seasoning
- Juice of lime or lemon as per taste
- Olive oil
- Wash cauliflower and cut in big thick slices. The slices should be of moderate thickness, so as to get them super crispy and bake faster.
- Layer the cauliflower slices on a lined baking sheet. Sprinkle or using a brush rub olive oil over the cauliflower. Sprinkle generous amount of seasoning.
- Bake at 420F for goof 45-50 minutes. Flip them in between. Once done, sprinkle salt and lemon juice as per taste. Eat hot.

September 8, 2014 at 8:47 AMCauliflower is one vegetable that people avoid in cooking, although it has a great sweet flavor and add a great texture to dishes. Your spicy cajun cauliflower looks yummy!
